Fibonacci en Phi

What is fibonacci? Very simple; 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, and so forth. It is adding the number you have (1) with the previous number (0) in order to get to the new number (1). Then do it again (1) + (1)

= (2). Then again (1) + (2) = (3) and so forth (5), (8), (13). Why should you know this you ask?

Do you have flowers in your room? Count the petals, now tell yourself how many are they (I can think of a couple of numbers that are above). Fibonacci = the way plants grow in the most effective way possible (222,5 degrees).

Now what does this mean? And what does it has to do with beauty? Very simply, Phi or the Golden Mean (1.618033989...going forth infinitely). Let's take the numbers 5 and 8. We divide the 8 by the 5 and get = 1,6. Close but not close enough for Phi. So lets pick 8 and 13 = 1,625. A little bit closer but not close enough. Let's take a bigger number, let's say 987 and 610; 1,6180327 and a whole lot of other numbers I won't be placing here. Wait a minute, 1,61803, they correspond with Phi.

So what does Phi do? Well for starters, our fingers are Phi. Our bodies are Phi, even our faces are Phi. We can relate to Phi within the Human body. We see Phi in architecture (The Parthenon, Greece), we see Phi in art (The Mona Lisa, Davinci), we see Phi in nature. It is all around us.

Even though, both Phi and Fibonacci came forth, from different era's of the human history. They both stem forth, from one small symbol. A symbol of simpleness and yet intrisic power. The Flower of Life. Namaste.
